Saints Row 2 with new patch

Anyone tried out Saints Row 2 since the latest patch on PS3 showed up getting it ready for DLC?

I just bought this game off eBay and the glitches are so awful that I can't even make it through the first mission.

I see graphical pillars all over the place and the boat you are supposed to get into leaps up and out of the water when it pops into view, bobbing up and down vertically. It also hung on a black screen once.

I'd heard it was glitchy, but I'd also heard Mercenaries 2 was glitchy and that game (post-patch) worked very well for me. Not perfectly, but well.

Anyone else seeing problems like this post-patch, or could my PS3 be going south? It's a launch-era 60GB machine.

I tried it once more and was able to finish the first mission.

I think its primary weakness is sprinting. When you sprint the graphics engine starts to come apart at the seams. It gets worse the more I sprint. Just...bleh. Such a shame.

I got this on 360, and got through one of the four main set of gang missions, and got stuck about halfway through the second. It's been a couple months since I threw it in, but I don't recall any major or distracting graphical hiccups. I've been meaning to go back to this one again, but the damn mission I'm stuck on for Sons of Samidi tasks me for taking out 6 helicopters within a minute while chasing it down in a vehicle, there must be some trick to it because I can only take out two tops. Meh, I'll just blame it on my inferior skillz0rzzz

I deleted and allowed the game to reload its game data to the hard drive and have found it to be pretty stable so far. No bouncing cars just yet.

I haven't put too much time into it though. There are just huge numbers of funny things to do in this game. The FUZZ missions really made me laugh out loud once I got over the initial shock of seeing a cop that was traveling with me suddenly start beating up one of the victims before I knew how it worked.

I never had any issues with the ps3 version of this game. I haven't played it since December though...too many good games since then...my backlog is double digits of games...

Looks like this is part and parcel of my PS3 steadily dying being talked about over in this thread.
