    Surprised this isn't here yet.
This is it though... this is the game I've been hoping would get made.

Iga is back and making a spiritually successor to Symphony of the Night!

The kickstarter is almost at $3.75M. But that's not the only contribution that will happen. The point of this kickstarter was to prove to publishers that gamers still wanted this type of game. They wanted him to go out and get $500K and he got 2x that on the first day. Now... the project also has publisher backing.
This SHOULD be what SotN fans like me have been waiting for!

    Here's the summary.
    • 2.5D Metroidvania style which will end up being the largest Iga has ever made.
    • Uses Unreal engine 4 for PC, PS4 and XBone and will be ported to Wii U and Vita! They are trying to keep the 2D look and style similar to what Guilty Gear Xrd did.
    • Same musical composer as SotN
    • Orchestrated music in the main game is inevitable at this point as it's the next stretch goal and within $20K (including paypal contributions)
    • Will have multiplayer and multiple playable characters.
    • Will also have a classic mode where they will take assets from the game and create a stage driven mode without leveling that will be more in tune with the old school Castlevania games. These stages will have old school "8-bit" music.
    • Will have other special modes like Boss rush and Speed run mode.
    • Voice acted including David Hayter and Robert Belgrade (Alucard from SotN)

4 days left to back it. I'm increasing my contribution to get a physical and digital copy as well as some other goodies.

There's a lot of options as far as how much you can contribute and cool rewards on all levels. I'm probably going after the collector's box:

Yeah I've been paying close attention to this as well, I haven't backed it because, well, I'm totally skint and the game isn't due for a good couple of years yet. I'll definitely be buying it when it's available for purchase though. Looks absolutely amazing and I adored Symphony of the Night, so this'll be right up my alley. And David Hayter will return as a voice actor once again, instead of being thrown to the curb by Kojima!

I know we've seen no gameplay yet, but the concept art of how they intend on the game looking does fill me with a lot of hope!

Same here. The concept art paints a fantastic picture. Just hope that picture is accurate.

It's pretty amazing that they were able to put together that much animation in just a couple of weeks. Really happy to see that.

The Campaign ends on Friday, so you guys get in while you can...

The end of campaign surge started earlier than I expected.

    116K yesterday.
More than that already today and there are still 4 1/2 hours left.
4 Million (Online vs challenge mode) is a given... and will likely happen today. (> 120K contributed through paypal and they are counting that)
4.25 (3rd playable character) I think is now likely
4.5 (prequel minigame)... longshot... but I think it may be possible.

    Get on it!

    Over 150K yesterday!
    Today, tomorrow and Friday remain.

    4M was hit yesterday
    4.5M is looking feasible.

Also... the backer "achievements" have all been unlocked.
One of those was the Pyrite coin which unlocked a "bonus" stretch goal.
Turns out... the game will have a New Game+ mode.
    Very cool.

$5M Stretch goal is now inevitable.

    Congrats to Iga!
Not to mention this is now the most successful video game kickstarter ever:
As of this post... it's at 4.718M with an addition $150K+ from paypal.

    Holy crap guys!

They just sent the email saying that 5M got hit.
    8 hours left...
    The unveiled 2 more things...

    New stretch goal at 5.5M
New reward at 60 achievements (at 59 now):

Awesome to see that the game will have a roguelike element in there - if the game didn't already have me at "of the Night" it has me with roguelike procedurally generated castles!

I backed this game at the last moment and watched it reach its final funding amount. I'm excited to play this when it comes out.

    What an amazing run...
Man... I've heard of a surge at the end of kick starter campaigns.. but never like that.

They got more on the last day than they did on the first.
Over 1M on the last day... first day was just under 1M.
And to think that a week ago I thought the 4.5M goal was a long shot.
    I underestimated Iga fans!

total... $5,545,991 + whatever they got on paypal which I heard was around 215K?

    And deserved.
